Biblical Reminders/Affirmations

2 Corinthians 12:7-9: "...Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weaknesses." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."
This is one of my upmost favorite biblical reminders. Like many people, I have experienced much physical, mental, and emotional pain. I am thankful for this. It is my pain and suffering that has formed my relationship with Jesus. It is through the struggles and misfortunes of life that His love, grace, mercy and power is most evident. It is my short-comings and my weaknesses that have kept me more humble, with more understanding and compassion for other people. I do not desire anything more, or anything less, than what keeps me in constant communication with my Lord and savior. It is through my pain that I found my passion, and it is through my passion that I have found my purpose. With the help of Holy Spirit, I will continue to use my passion and compassion to share His love, as I seek Him to help guide people to a healthier state of being, and becoming more whole.
Romans 5:3-5 "I can rejoice when I run into problems and trials, for I know they help me develop character, and character strengthens my confident hope of salvation...For I know how dearly God loves me, because He has given me the Holy Spirit to fill my heart with His love."
This is also one of my most favorite biblical reminders. Again, it is through my struggles that I have built my reliance upon, faith in, and relationship with God. My struggles in life have instilled a compassion for others, that I would not have otherwise. It is through my trials that I experience His love the most, and that brings me meaning and purpose in life...to share His love. He has blessed me with the knowledge and ability to help others, in a way that only He knew I could do. I am humbled and grateful to share those blessings.
2 Corinthians 7:1 Let us cleanse ourselves of everything that contaminates our flesh or spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?
Phil 2:13 For God is working in me, giving me the desire and power to do what pleases Him.
Romans 8:26-27 And the Holy Spirit helps me in my weakness...And the Father who knows my heart, knows what the Holy Spirit is saying, for the Holy Spirit pleads for me in harmony with God's own will.
